Konnect Em Services is a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) registered service provider, based in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. 

We are a dedicated family-based business committed to providing one-on one supports and services in-home and out in community. We make it our mission to attend to your needs from a person-centred approach, making you the planner and the decision maker to achieve your preferred goals. We walk beside you to fulfil your goals whilst observing our company motto in building good relationships and supports with the aim to meet successful outcomes.

Our motto, that describes the guiding principles of the company, derives from the ‘Motu’ language of Papua New Guinea.

Bahetura

Bahetura means ‘relationship’.

 We believe it is vital to have a good relationship with the people we support. Good relationships help create respectful friendships and connections that inspire positive outcomes and building trust, allowing our clients to have the confidence to count on us. We honour these qualities in our services and are passionate about consciously promoting awareness, empathy, communication, dependability, accountability and honesty to all of the wonderful people we work with.

Baheduru

Baheduru means ‘support’.

 It takes courage and confidence for a person providing support; they possess many good qualities including empathy, patience, emotional resilience with the desire to provide support and care services for an individual in need, especially in the disability sector. We believe support plays a big part in social change and growth; therefore, our staff are committed to delivering  support services with care, integrity and congeniality in order to promote equal opportunity. At Konnect Em Services, we are focused on helping individuals build a sense of confidence in people, whilst they cultivate a sense of belonging. 


Bahavaraia

Bahavaraia means committing to ‘success’.

 We pride ourselves with the quality of services we provide in caring for our clients and successfully meeting their short and long-term goals. We do this with a holistic approach in considering their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing. We promote a culturally safe and appropriate practice standards to our First Nations People and the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) background and celebrate with them the small and big wins. We are focused on providing a specifically-tailored and person-centred approach that promotes the client’s best interests, choices and control on how, where and when they want to achieve the best outcomes.

WHO AM I

My name is Emily and Konnect Em Services is my business as well as my passion.

I am from Cairns, Australia, originally from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG). 

I have PNG and Solomon Island heritage. 


My passion to start this business emerged from early years of child services and behaviour support practice (NDIS) work in supporting vulnerable children, youths and individuals with challenging behaviours, mental health issues, and individuals with disability needing help and supports. 

In addition to this, my lived experiences bolstered my confidence to start this business as a survivor of domestic violence; especially intimate partner violence, the journey into surviving breast cancer and surviving workplace harassment and bullying with racial discrimination.  


These life episodes were the motivating factors that push me to reach my academic achievements and to dream big for my future. I always believe that when life throws you the hard assignment, grab it and tackle it with God's guidance.  

In 2011, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I turned my focus on myself to heal and work toward achieving the tertiary education that I had put off for many years. 

So I did, during 2011- 2015, I completed my Diploma in Tourism at TAFE and and went onto complete my Bachelor of Business degree during the course of my cancer treatment journey. From 2018-2020, after recovering, I returned and completed my Master of Social Work degree to fulfil the passion to help people. 

During 2021-2022, in preparation to run my own business, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Human Services Management from Uni South Australia to gain the knowledge to understand the nexus of law and social work policies to comply with the human services industry laws and regulation.


All these life experiences, challenges and achievements have taught me so much more about myself and life itself; mostly to stop and truly appreciate God, and recognise that he cares for us always during the good and the challenging times. He gives us the comfort and strength we need, and therefore in return, we should share comfort with others if we have the power and knowledge to do so.


I am passionate about inspiring people and to help them meet their full potential, and empower them to live their best life. So with this opportunity, I'm blessed to say I am leading an amazing team who share the same inspiration. Together,  our mission is to become a dynamic and innovative organisation, developing and evolving personalised services that drive true inclusion through effective management from a dedicated and professional team. 

We will hold your hand and walk with you to provide the best quality services, as our slogan describes us as, " we hear your voice to connect your choice".


We are also proud to provide our services in three languages:  English, Motu, Pidgin (PNG).
